Fingar, Joan "Ti" Chili: March 17, 2017 at age 78. After a courageous battle with cancer, Joan passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones. Joan loved life and enjoyed spending time with her Skye Terriers and her family. Joan was a member of DOTCORNY and a Certified Therapy Dogs International Evaluator. Joan had several therapy dogs that brought care and comfort to many. Joan was also an avid supporter of Harley Allendale Columbia basketball – earning the title of "#1 Fan." Joan earned an Associate's degree from Monroe Community College and was proud of her 4.0 grade point average as a returning student. Joan spent numerous years showing her Skye Terriers and made several lasting friendships in the dog show community. One of her proudest accomplishments was winning the National Specialty for Skye Terriers. Friends and family were the center of Joan's world and she made wonderful connections with many. Joan was as loyal as her beloved Skye Terriers; she was squarely in the corner of those she loved. An engaging individual, Joan was always quick with a hug and words of support and appreciation. Joan will be missed by many. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Gerald; her daughters, Melissa and Amy (Frank) Adamski; her grandson, Jeffrey Terzo; and her Skye Terriers, Chloe, Frankly, and Elsa. A Memorial Service celebrating Joan's life will begin at Parkminster Presbyterian Church (2710 Chili Avenue, Rochester, New York 14624) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017. Refreshments will be served afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Monroe Community College Foundation, or the Hildebrandt Hospice. As Ti would say, "Don't be sad; be happy that you had the opportunity to know me."
