Pittsford, NY: Wendy Sawyer Black, 70 passed away peacefully on May 26, 2018 at home in Pittsford, New York. At her side was her loving and adoring husband of 29 years Thomas W. Adamski. Wendy was born July 27, 1947, in Houston, Texas, the daughter of the late William A. and Dorothy (Allen) Sawyer, Jr. of Pittsford. As the daughter of an Eastman Kodak Co. executive, Wendy along with her family moved frequently living in Alamo, CA, Tustin, CA, London, England, and Chappaqua, NY, where she attended Horace Greeley High School. Her family finally settled in Pittsford, NY, in 1965 where Wendy attended and graduated from Pittsford Sutherland High School; and went on to college at Cazenovia College. Wendy is survived by her two children from previous marriages; Fredrick T. Brooks III of Ventura, CA, married to Martha (Reed) Brooks, and Lindsay (Black) Brownsword of Honeyoe Falls, married to James Brownsword. Four beautiful grandchildren, Sawyer and Emyrsen Brooks and Georgia and Edie Brownsword. Wendy leaves behind a sister and brother-in-law, Lou Ann Washing and Bruce Kost, a brother and sister-in-law, William A. “Buz” and Laura (Lancaster) Sawyer, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joanne (Adamski) and Edward Hewig. Wendy also leaves behind a niece, Kendall Sawyer and 3 nephews, William L. Sawyer, Whitcomb Washing and Jason Washing. Wendy owned and operated Sawyer Business Support Services for 26 years along with her husband Thomas Adamski. She was a loving caring person, a joy to be around, and an inspiration to everyone whose life she touched. She will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Upstate New York Chapter of The National Multiple Sclerosis Society. A celebration of Wendy’s life will be held at a future date, to be announced.
